These photos are taken from slides that Maurice took in 1973: "... I was a company trainee based at the Reed Corrugated factory in Lydbrook. I had lodgings with a nice lady just across the road from the factory. ... They were taken in the winter of 1973/4 (which was also the time of the 3 day week and I can remember we had candles for some nights). (the photos above and below) show the flooded river looking over from my lodgings to the church and what is now the YHA hostel".
